Real quick

I just want to give a shout out to Daniel Bashta. He led worship this morning at Riverstone and it was intense, powerful and engaging. If you don't know who Daniel Bashta is, then do yourself a favor and check out his website and read about him. He has incredible heart and even more incredible gifting. Plus my friends, his EP/CD is free to upload (plus his chord charts). Trust me when I say that you will love his cd. I've had it for almost a year now and I never grow tired of it! [which is something I cannot say about most of my other cds]

I Need Africa...Part Deux

About a week ago I posted on why I need Africa more than Africa needs me, how they live out the very nature of Christ [Philippians 2] and how just looking at their land, the country our very creative Creator created [a little alliteration for your reading pleasure], drops my jaw and brings a tear to my eye. I hope you took my challenge and wrote about how much you need Africa! Or at least I hope you clicked on the links to read more about this amazing campaign [if not, you still can click on the little square box in the upper right hand corner of my blog...see it? Yep, that one...click on it...]

Well, here are some more thoughts from the founder of Mocha Club:

When I think of Africa, the following images immediately come to mind: Starvation. AIDS. Child soldiers. Genocide. Sex slaves. Orphans. From there, my thoughts naturally turn to how I can help, how I can make a difference.

“I am needed here?” I think.

“They have so little, and I have so much.”

It’s true, there are great tragedies playing out in Africa everyday. There is often a level of suffering here that is unimaginable until you have seen it, and even then it is difficult to believe. But what is even harder is reconciling the challenges that many Africans face with the joy I see in the people. It’s a joy that comes from somewhere I cannot fathom, not within the framework that has been my life to this day. [read more]

And after you "read more", check out this video:

So there you go. Let's show the world how much we [America] need Africa!!
